shivling
Known as one of the most beautiful mountains in the world, Shivling is an attractive objective for climbers.
The North Buttress is one of the so-called Magic Lines in the Himalayas, but it has never been climbed directly.
A perfect goal: to find a direct exit to the route of Kammerlander and Hainz, which bypasses the 200 -metre- high
Headwall on the right.
After preparing a camp at 6000 metres during a period of bad weather, everything is ready for the push. On May 29th
Thomas and the Swiss Iwan Wolf set off ,and after 2 bivouacs they top out at 6 pm on May 31st. Their new route: 'Shiva`s
line' with difficulties as high as 5.10/A4.
The expedition became the winner of the Piolet dŽor 2001
