cerro torre and fitz roy

some years ago cerro torre and fitz roy were considered to be among the most difficult mountains of the world. but with the increasing number of ascents these wild granite needles have lost their nimbus of being invincible.
today, the summits of cerro torre and fitz roy attract more and more climbers - because there are only few other mountains in the world, which could come close to the esthetical shape of patagonia´s striking granite needles.
after bivouaking in the summit mushroom toni gutsch and alexander huber climbed to the highest point of cerro torre at sunrise of the 18th of january and only five days later the reached the top of fitz roy.
