orca
with the first ascent of ‚open air' on schleier in 1996 alexander left for some years the stage of
high end difficulties. after break of nearly 5 years he is back in his favourite climbing spot near
kitzbühel in austria.
old projectswaited to be climbed - but not for long! after bolting a project in 1993 alexander failed
climbing it in the following years. even though 'orca' (8c) is 20 meters long, the difficulites are
concentrated onto a single move!
in 2001 alexander is able to find a solution to the crux move. to get into start position you have
to move from a big hold to the sloping pocket, grab it, place your foot to the left hand and then
you have to go for the next hold: simple but reachy and desperate!
