cerro standhardt

on 20th of october 2002, after climbing the route 'exocet' of jim bridwell, alexander and the three swiss stephan siegrist, ralf weber, roger schaeli reached the top of the summit ice mushroom of cerro standhardt.
as third and smallest of the three towers of the cerro-torre-group it is the most accessible summit of these wild granite-towers. nevertheless it is one of the technically demanding and difficult summits in the world of mountaineering.
the actual target, the ascent of the mysterious maestri-egger - which would be in all probability an first ascent - had been abandoned after nearly 6 weeks of waiting for reasonable weather.
